Job Summary

Houston-based partner law firms with an established presence and steady growth are offering a unique opportunity for the right candidate. This position emphasizes excellent legal representation, a collaborative work environment, and unparalleled client service. The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive bookkeeping skills encompassing general ledger, accounts payable (AP), and payroll management. Familiarity with ADP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other standard office software is highly desirable.


Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the law firm.
  • Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, billing, and payroll.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records.
  • Manage client trust accounts, including recording deposits and disbursements.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and staff to gather necessary financial information.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, such as auditors and tax advisors.

Bookkeeper Requirements:

  • 3+ years of successful bookkeeping experience
  • Knowledge of legal industry is required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, Microsoft Excel, and other traditional office software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Technologically savvy and adaptable to new systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with unquestioned integrity.
  • Detail-oriented and dedicated to maintaining accurate records.
