General Manager Responsibilities

  • Be the brand ambassador in your community
  • Ensure consistency and efficiency in food and service standards
  • Select, train, and develop restaurant staff, as well as other HR functions as needed, including discipline and terminations
  • Lead and motivate team with a high degree of professionalism and accountability
  • Engage with guests and set the example for hospitality-driven service; resolve issues and complaints
  • Oversee scheduling and maintain labor costs within budget
  • Maintain restaurant profitability, including minimizing costs and growing sales

General Manager Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a restaurant General Manager, fast-casual concept experience highly preferred
  • Ability to work well in a high-volume, pressured environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication ability
  • Proven history of success in managing financials
  • Ability to develop a positive team culture and a supportive work environment that encourages success
  • Record of development - you can build your team and take care of your people; you develop new leaders and maintain low turnover
