A growing Detroit area Job Shop that provides precision machining, inspection, and assembly, to multiple industries, is seeking a Manual Machinist on 1st Shift, for a Boring Mill Machine, setup, and operation. Must have experience with Devlieg Jig Mill, or equivalent, except for Bridgeport Mills.

Manual Machinist - Responsibilities:

• Set up, identify tools required, and run jobs, with minimal supervision.
• Set work offsets
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, work area.
• Responsibility and accountability

Manual Machinist - Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED minimum
• 10 years of boring machine experience preferred
• Must have own tools
• Basic understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
• Knowledge of, and experience with:
  • Manual machining,
  • Clamping, and cutting techniques,
  • Speeds and Feeds
  • Material properties and how to match equipment and techniques to the material
• Able to use basic inspection equipment (micrometers, height, and bore gauges).
