Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation in a gastropub setting
- Develop and execute creative and innovative menus, emphasizing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of food production, including menu planning, ordering, and inventory management
- Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
- Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and quality
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to meet financial targets and achieve guest satisfaction
- Create and cost recipes, monitor food costs, and implement strategies to maximize profitability
- Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and emerging ingredients to bring unique culinary experiences to guests
- Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement among the kitchen staff
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors and suppliers to source high-quality ingredients
- Maintain an awareness of dietary restrictions and special requests, accommodating guests' needs when necessary
- Participate in menu tastings, special events, and promotional activities to enhance the gastropub's reputation
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and efficient communication between the kitchen and the dining area
Chef de Cuisine Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a gastropub or high-end restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to create innovative and appealing menus while keeping profitability in mind
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for food and a creative approach to cooking
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
- Salary Range-80,000-85,000 plus bonus and benefits, and professional growth opportunities with this restaurant group
