Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation in a gastropub setting
  • Develop and execute creative and innovative menus, emphasizing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of food production, including menu planning, ordering, and inventory management
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
  • Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and quality
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the restaurant management team to meet financial targets and achieve guest satisfaction
  • Create and cost recipes, monitor food costs, and implement strategies to maximize profitability
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and emerging ingredients to bring unique culinary experiences to guests
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement among the kitchen staff
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local vendors and suppliers to source high-quality ingredients
  • Maintain an awareness of dietary restrictions and special requests, accommodating guests' needs when necessary
  • Participate in menu tastings, special events, and promotional activities to enhance the gastropub's reputation
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and efficient communication between the kitchen and the dining area

Chef de Cuisine Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a gastropub or high-end restaurant
  • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to create innovative and appealing menus while keeping profitability in mind
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for food and a creative approach to cooking
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Salary Range-80,000-85,000 plus bonus and benefits, and professional growth opportunities with this restaurant group
